Starla Rajavuori writes middle grade horror and fantasy, as well as YA romantasy, and YA and adult historical horror. Her stories draw on a lifelong obsession with mythology, fairy tales, and the eerie depths of Finnish folklore. She holds a master's in history from Fort Hays State University, where her thesis drew in part on her fascination with Finnish myth. Like the folktales she loves, her books embrace both light and dark, weaving tales where the scares are real, the love is worth fighting for, and hope always finds its way through.

 

She is represented by Alex Land at Mad Woman Literary.

 

She is based in Minneapolis, and when she's not writing, you might find her hiking in the woods, catching a local play, or dreaming up her next adventure.
