About
“Beautiful and full of monsters?"
“All the best stories are.”
― Laini Taylor, Strange the Dreamer
S.J. Rajavuori writes folklore-inspired stories of hope and heroism with a touch of darkness. She studied Creative Writing with a Concentration in Screenwriting at Southern New Hampshire University. Her writing journey started with screenplays and expanded to include novels.
She is currently querying her first novel, “Lumi and the Keiju”, a spooky middle grade Historical Fantasy rooted in Finnish Folklore. Meanwhile, she is working on her second novel, a YA Dark Fantasy that tips a hat to Beauty and the Beast.
Her short film screenplay "Flesh" is a psychological horror set in colonial New England, and she is drafting her first feature, a supernatural thriller featuring Vikings. When not writing, she might be found hiking the mountains of Southern California or searching for a chocolate bar she hasn’t tried yet.
